Important results from the project
The project goals set at the beginning were met during the course of the project. Other important results that the project contributed to are the understanding and commitment created for issues surrounding water reuse and the exchange of perspectives and experiences shared between actors who participated in the project work in various ways.
Expected long-term effects
The long-term impact of the project is that it will be easier to provide and use reused and recycled water in Sweden. This will be achieved through follow-up projects, for example, aimed at developing national supporting guidelines for the safe delivery and use of reused and recycled water, developing water supply planning that includes other water sources, and developing a methodology to assess under what conditions it is advantageous to reuse and recycle water.
Approach and implementation
The project has brought together a wide group of stakeholders from academia, society and industry with significant knowledge of reused and recycled water. The work has been carried out through a series of workshops to explore the area together by defining the desired future situation, the need for change and efforts to achieve change.
