Call: Impact Innovation – call for proposals for strategic projects

Contact: Åsa Romson

Purpose and goal

The project aims to build knowledge in support of Water Wise Societies´s focus on water-resilient communities that are built and managed in harmony with water and are resilient to climate change and crises. The focus is on managing flood risks downstream through collaboration in a river basin.

Expected effects and result

The project aims to increase knowledge about possible incentives and rules for actors within a catchment area to better manage water in the event of increased and changes in the precipitation. The goal is a proposal for a new policy with a description of strategic functions, trade-offs and consequences.

Planned approach and implementation

With a collaborative knowledge creation process (policy lab), experts and actors in the Kilaån catchment area together identify the need for water-related climate adaptation measures, what incentives to implement measures are needed, and what responsibility different actors need to have for the measures to be implemented. The expert investigation spans fields of knowledge in hydrology, economics and law. The policy lab is structured around three workshops spread over the project period.
