Purpose and objectives
This project will accelerate the number of actionable initiatives to reduce nitrous oxide emissions from industrial and municipal water treatment through a cross-sectoral collaboration where we will i) map relevant actors, projects and measurement techniques, ii) initiate the development of more resource-efficient measurement methods, iii) investigate the need for model development and stakeholder collaboration for digital tools to provide increased practical benefits and iv) identify and prepare continuation projects.
Expected impacts and results
We are starting work on a national platform, a website, where scientific knowledge and national experience are presented together with contact details of key actors. In the future, the website can be developed into a member platform, a competence cluster, where, for example, joint data collection and processing can be carried out. An example of a follow-up project could be that the demand owners install different types of measuring equipment to evaluate measurement methods and emissions over a five-year period.
Planned approach and implementation
The project partners consist of two need owners and four solution owners. The reference actors include another eighteen need owners and eleven solution owners. The project consists of four work packages (WP). Three project-wide meetings will be held during the project, two of which are physical with study visits and one is digital. Each WP will conduct workshops and follow-up meetings. The four WPs are Measurement methods, Emission reduction measures, Digital tools and Planning of continuation projects.
