It analyzes the funding landscape for water-related research and innovation relevant to Water Wise Societies, focusing on which themes and issues are addressed in calls, to what extent and through what types of initiatives. The analysis also highlights overlaps and gaps in funding and differences in patterns between Sweden and the EU.    <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The report also maps approved research and development (R&#038;D) projects in sustainable water supply, management and governance that are relevant to the Water Wise Society&#8217;s mission. The mapping is based on an analysis of how Water Wise Societies&#8217; sub-goals, mission and system dimensions for transition are reflected in projects with Swedish actors funded through national and European programs during the period 2020-2024. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Overall, the mapping provides actors within and around the program&#8217;s mission with a comprehensive overview of key funders, types of projects, and the research and innovation phases and scope of various initiatives. It also provides a basis for positioning Water Wise Societies in relation to existing initiatives, strengthening coordination with ongoing efforts and building on previous investments. It highlights possible synergies, overlaps and gaps in the current funding structure.  <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The report is structured to allow for both overview and in-depth analysis. It begins with a summary of the year&#8217;s insights, presenting patterns in funding and recommendations for future funding. The results are presented in two parts: an analysis of funding actors and calls, and a review of approved projects. Each part begins with a summary of key findings.
