\nImportant results from the project<\/h2>\n
The project focused on fire water and extinguishing water as an area for system acupuncture and to attract the right actors who can in the long term establish new forms of collaboration for a more robust system for water management in a crisis. The goal of gathering the right actors was achieved during the project period and they have been prepared for the next step. A number of methods were also identified to reduce the fire departments\u2019 dependence on drinking water for extinguishing a fire.<\/p>\n
Expected long-term effects<\/h2>\n
The project contributes to Sweden’s increased preparedness for long and extensive crises. However, reforming water management is not just a technical adjustment \u2013 it affects the risk management of the entire society. The project partners will work on, for example, alternative strategies for crisis water, off-grid operation of treatment plants, etc. Stress tests will also be carried out with the aim of identifying weaknesses in order to create increased preparedness in the long term.<\/p>\n
Approach and implementation<\/h2>\n
The project has been driven by a project manager and a deputy project manager who, together with the partners, have planned and implemented the workshop series that has worked as the project engine. During the workshop series, a number of concrete measures have been identified to achieve more resilient water management. These include specific innovations to be tested and evaluated, new guidelines, new financing models, etc. The approach of focusing on a subset of the issue has been successful.<\/p>\n
