Important results from the project
The project objectives have been achieved and include the implementation of four thematic workshops with the participants of both project partners and external actors where they have worked with the:
- Identification of key challenges to reduce pollution spread via stormwater from urban catchments.
- Formulation of a common vision for the future with a focus on source control.
- Proposals for concrete measures and system changes to minimize pollution spread from urban sources.
Expected long-term effects
By further working with the ideas in this project, the conditions are created for:
- Reduced release of pollutants via stormwater from urban catchments. In addition, a stormwater that has a greater potential for reuse as an alternative water source is obtained .
- Improved collaboration and coordination between different stakeholders and actors.
- Implementation of upstream measures and system changes that effectively manage pollution sources.
Approach and implementation
The project was based on a workshop series with the project partners to explore the issues formulated in the project’s aim and scopes. The project was implemented according to plan and developed as intended. In addition to planned activities, an open workshop was also held with external partners who were not part of the original project group. This workshop provided added value and further insights and is reported in the project report.
