Purpose and objectives
The strategic project “Water resources act – a possible path to local and regional stakeholder collaboration to prevent and minimize risks in river basins” brings together stakeholders in a real river basin, the Kävlingån river basin, for dialogue and collaboration in a policy lab on proposals for the development of a new water resources act. The aim is to produce a basis for the direction of a new water resources act, support for developed rule application and contribute with the project’s own proposals.
Expected impacts and results
The project results are presented in the form of a final report with three parts: direction for a new water resources act (what could be included in a new legislation, delimitations, goals and purpose of the law, assessment of consequences, etc.), support for improved regulatory application, and any other potential proposals from the project.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is led by RISE, Kävlingeåns vattenråd, Lund University and the drinking water company Sydvatten. In addition, a large number of other stakeholders are involved. To create an inclusive development process, policy labs are used as a method. The project will last about 10 months.
