Purpose and goal

The project brings together actors in a real river basin, the Kävlingån river basin, for dialogue and collaboration in a policy lab around proposals for the development of a new water resources law. The project result is presented in the form of a final report with the three parts; orientation for a new water resources law support for developed rule application and the project´s own possible proposals in other respects.

Expected effects and result

In the long term, the project is expected to contribute to a model for sustainable water resource management that can be used nationally and improved collaboration between stakeholders. The effects will be increased resilience to climate change, continued good water quality and quantity, and reduced conflicts over water use. The project will also contribute to more inclusive and equitable water management.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will bring together the actors around the Kävlingeån River to work in broad collaboration, and together with a large number of other actors, towards finding solutions for future water resource management. This will be done through an iterative work process with successive additions and extensive actor dialogues in policy labs. The results from these will be compiled in a report.
